The event opened on Friday and saw VIP’s and attendees alike treated to a myriad of stalls boasting everything from Anime and Manga to American themed candy. Attendees also got to take part in exclusive signings from British comics legend Pat Mills, explore the expanded and artist full Comic Village, watch exclusive podcasts from gaming giants Gamespot (Guest starring games company Volition) and then finally wrap up the day by attending the 2010 Eagle Awards hosted by Futurama’s Billy West! When the doors re-opened on Saturday, the queues snaked as far as the eye could see and were some of the biggest seen in the events history, even prompting some of the star guests to get out their cameras and take photos of this incredible sight.

The day featured incredible panels across the events five stages both inside and for the first time, outside of the centre as The MCM Fringe stage made its event debut. Attendees of all ages marvelled at the likes of exclusive footage from the Warner Bros. summer blockbuster The Green Lantern (10 lucky attendees also won tickets to an exclusive screening of the movie), Universal pictures showed world exclusive footage from their upcoming feature The Immortals, The writers of X-Men: First Class delighted fans with what to expect from the movie, The Lion Man announced details of his new series, Beckii Cruel danced and talked her way further into the hearts of fans as she followed her performance by giving fans advice on dancing and the cast of hit series Futurama filled the MCM Theatre to the brim and delivered one the most memorable panels in the events history.

All the while the newly formed partnership with Gamespot allowed gaming fans to question the developers at exclusive Q&A’s on forthcoming titles such as Arcana Heart 3, Red Faction Armageddon and many more. The day ended on a high with the crowning of the first British Euro Cosplay representative, Neil Lockwood (Xaerael), whose show stopping Dark Crystal Skeksil Chamberlin cosplay left judges, audience and organisers alike in a state of wonderment and the rest of Europe in fear. Sunday saw the queues return once more and fans were treated to yet more exclusives and world firsts as cast and crew from the forthcoming BBC3 series, The Fades, gave fans the first look at a trailer from the show and told the thrilled audience what to expect when the series airs this September.

The Fringe Stage continued its weekend mixture of live music and entertainment with performances from live bands, DJ’s and even attendees in the form of Karaoke, all the while supported by a giant screen showing the latest film trailers from Universal, 20th Century Fox and more.

 Back inside and the Comic Village stage gave fans amongst other things the opportunity to learn about the world of Steampunk, question anime voice actors Brian Becock (Bleach) and Ben Diskin (Naruto) before ending the day with the artists taking on the writers in this now annual battle of wits and wills. As the weekend drew to a close and the packing down began with dealers such as Manga Entertainment, Viz Media, Beez, MVM, Tokyo Toys and other, all boxing up their remaining stock. The star guests returned to their hotels, attendees crowded on to the DLR and the grass surrounding the centre, all were full with memories of another fantastic weekend and all eagerly planning their next trip to The MCM Expo!
